The Remodeled Honda CR-V Gives You More
The 2026 Honda CR-V continues to stand as a flagship in the compact-SUV category. It’s known for blending comfort, efficiency, and versatility. For the new year, Honda elevates this appeal by introducing refreshed technology and a brand-new, adventure-ready Trail Sport Hybrid trim. The 2026 Honda CR-V emphasizes rugged capability without sacrificing refinement.
Honda CR-V Boasts A New & Rugged Design
The Honda CR-V retains its sleek, aerodynamic shape with subtle enhancements. All trims now feature new 18-inch wheel designs for a modern, cohesive look. The standout addition is the TrailSport Hybrid trim that offers rugged styling with shark-gray alloy wheels on all-terrain tires, Trail Sport branding, and protective skid-plate accents. Whichever Honda CR-V you choose, you’re injecting a bold, adventurous flair into your life. With its blend of refined sophistication and trail-ready capability, this versatile SUV is equally at home navigating city streets or exploring the great outdoors.
A Hybrid Designed With Innovation At The Core
Tech and comfort get significant upgrades inside the Honda CR-V. All models now feature a 9-inch central touchscreen (up from the previous year’s 7-inch display), along with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless charging as standard across the lineup. The EX-L trim gains a 10.2-inch digital instrument display for a more immersive driving interface. On Trail Sport Hybrid models, the cabin gets a rugged upgrade—orange contrast stitching, ambient lighting, and embroidered Trail Sport logos on headrests and floor mats.
The Honda CR-V Prioritizes Safety
Technology across the Honda CR-V lineup sees a notable boost. The 9-inch infotainment screen, wireless smartphone integration, and wireless charging are now universally included. The Sport-L and Sport Touring Hybrid trims go further, offering enhanced features like built-in navigation via Google-integrated tech, expanded digital instruments, and premium audio systems. In terms of safety, the Honda Sensing suite remains standard. Additionally, the AWD models benefit from enhanced traction management at low speeds for improved control in challenging terrain.
Introducing A Multi-Use Engine For The Honda CR-V
The Honda CR-V offers two powertrain paths: a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder making 190 hp or a two-motor hybrid system delivering 204 hp. Notably, Trail Sport and Sport Touring Hybrid models come with standard Real-Time AWD. Whereas other trims offer AWD optionally. The hybrid powertrain maintains strong efficiency with an estimated 40 mpg city / 34 mpg highway. The turbo model provides a balanced blend of performance and economy, at about 28 city / 33 highway mpg.
2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid
The 2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid introduces the all-new TrailSport Hybrid trim, marking the first time Honda has combined its rugged TrailSport design with a hybrid powertrain. Across the entire lineup, Honda has upgraded technology features for 2026, making a standard 9.0-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone connectivity, and wireless phone charging available. The TrailSport Hybrid emphasizes outdoor capability with all-terrain tires wrapped around 18-inch wheels and standard all-wheel drive, plus exclusive styling touches like Ash Green exterior paint colors and orange exterior trim details that continue into the cabin with amber-hued lighting. Additional updates include enhanced traction management for all-wheel-drive models, while the range-topping Sport Touring Hybrid receives a new Individual drive mode. The Honda CR-V Hybrid powertrain continues to deliver strong performance with 204 horsepower and excellent fuel economy ratings of 43/36 mpg city/highway with front-wheel drive and 40/34 mpg with all-wheel drive.
2026 Honda CR-V eFCEV
Honda offers a hydrogen fuel-cell plug-in system called the Honda CR-V e:FCEV. This model converts compressed hydrogen into electricity and includes a 17.7-kWh battery that can be recharged to provide about 29 miles of driving range. This unique vehicle is only sold in California and appears to be more of a research project for Honda rather than a mainstream offering. For the 2026 model year, Honda's electrified Honda CR-V options in the U.S. are limited to the regular Hybrid models and the California-only hydrogen fuel-cell e:FCEV.
