Since its inception in 1977, the Honda CR-V has been America’s most popular crossover SUV. And it’s no wonder that this vehicle has become such a quintessential family car given its affordability, durability and fuel efficiency.
Last week, Honda released a sneak peak of its 2020 Honda CR-V and we can safely say that the 2020 Honda CR-V is poised to exceed all the high expectations set by its predecessors.
The 2020 Honda CR-V will be the first of its kind to come with a gas/electric hybrid version. The all-new 2020 Honda CR-V will also include features like standard all wheel drive as an optional feature, Honda Sensing safety in all versions, and driver-assist technology, which was previously only available in the EX version and the above.
The driver-assist technology includes the following features:
- Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and pedestrian sensing capability
- Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with low-speed Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS)
- Blind Spot Information (BSI)
- Rear Cross Traffic Monitor (CTM)
- Auto High Beam headlights.
These Honda Sensing safety features are standardized across all versions of the 2020 Honda CR-V as part of Honda’s Safety for Everyone commitment. The Hybrid CR-V also comes with Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) with a front-bumper speaker that audibly alerts pedestrians when operating electric-only.
The 2020 Honda CR-V will hit dealer showrooms this fall and we cannot wait to get a closer look at the new face of America’s most loved CUV!
