When Was The Honda Prologue Created?
The Prologue is brand new for the 2024 Honda Lineup. First announced in 2022, the team at the Honda Design Studio in Los Angeles spent more than two years designing a truly innovative EV. They were given the freedom to develop some of their own systems, as well as build the new vehicle off of some proven design components.
What Was The Honda Prologue Built Off Of?
Honda has a successful history partnering with esteemed automaker General Motors. The 2010 Saturn Vue actually had a Honda V6 engine under the hood. Meanwhile the design of the Honda Passport was based on an Izuzu Trooper. With the development of the Prologue, Honda decided to once again partner with GM. The 2024 Honda Prologue shares many of its components and design elements with the Chevy Blazer EV. Although Honda engineers developed the interior and many other elements themselves, they worked closely with GM engineers to integrate many of their proven designs into the 2024 Prologue as well.
What Makes The Honda Prologue Special
The Prologue is currently the only fully electric SUV in the Honda lineup. It represents the beginning of a new and exciting era of Honda electric vehicles. But there are plenty of unique features that prove this all electric SUV as an amazing achievement.
All Electric
The 2024 Prologue features two different powertrain options. The first is a 212 horsepower single-motor with front-wheel drive. You can also upgrade to two motors that combine for 288 horsepower with all-wheel drive. The Prologue also features an 85kWh battery pack that will get you up to 300 miles of range. With a fast charging system you can expect about 65 miles of range after about 10 minutes of charging. A full charge will take anywhere from 5 to 6 hours. You can also expect an impressive 0-60 time of under four seconds!
An EV That Tows
Immediate speed isn’t the only feature that an electric motor can provide. The Prologue also has an incredible towing capacity of 5,000 lbs. For comparison, 5,000lbs is the towing capacity for the standard Ford F-150 pickup truck!
Interior Comfort
The interior of the 2024 Prologue was designed specifically with comfort and convenience in mind. There is a plethora of leg room and interior cargo space. Additionally, the design of the dashboard is sleek and modern but also intuitive to operate.
Technology
Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come standard on a 11.3 in touchscreen display. The higher trim models also feature a luxurious Bose sound system. The two touchscreens both help to provide a state of the art driving experience.
